Bio-Pharmaceutical MSc
Bio-pharmaceutical drugs are transforming the way we treat patients, fighting global diseases such as cancer and inflammatory diseases such as arthritis. Many pharmaceutical companies are expanding their bio-pharmaceutical capability, which is creating demand for talented, well-trained people. Due to exponential growth in the bio-pharmaceutical industry but a lack of suitable candidates, a skills gap currently exists which employers are desperate to fill. The course content focuses on the discovery and development of large molecule drugs: monoclonal antibodies like bio-similars, antibody-drug conjugates and gene therapies. Added to this is practical hands-on training in the technologies that underpin the discovery and development pathway. You’ll receive training in protein purification, characterisation, formulation and assessment of binding function and the use of cell-based assays to look at drug potency.
