Public Health – Gerontology
Gerontology is a field of science that studies aging as a biological, psychological and social phenomenon. Research in public health examines the health of different population groups as well as health-related factors. The study programme of gerontology and public health concentrates on the health and functional capacity of older people. The ultimate goal is to improve their prospects for active and independent living at an older age.
